PGFAEs: Plant-derived, non-ionic emulsifiers with low irritation and no ethoxylated residues

Polyglyceryl Fatty Acid Esters (PGFAEs) provide excellent emulsification performance with outstanding salt tolerance and heat stability, enabled by their high cloud point. These characteristics allow formulators to achieve stable emulsions even under challenging conditions such as high electrolyte or temperature environments. In addition to their robustness, polyglycerylesters deliver superior compatibility with a wide range of oils and surfactants, while maintaining low irritation -ideal for developing clean personal care formulations.

NIKKOL Decaglyn 1-M: Advanced D-phase Emulsifier

NIKKOL Decaglyn 1-M excels in advanced D-phase emulsification.

The D-phase (Detergent phase or Surfactant phase) is an infinite aggregate called a bi-continuous state.

Emulsification process in which surfactant phase (D-phase) is formed by nonionic surfactants and an aqueous solution of polyols, and the oil phase is retained in D-phase and forms an O/D gel emulsion. Finally, O/D gel is diluted with water to form an O/W emulsion. 

D-Phase emulsification can create higher viscous emulsion with lower mechanical force than mechanical emulsification.

D-Phase technique is used in cleansing gel and cream formulations as its quick emulsification property.

NIKKOL Decaglyn 3-SV is a natural gelling agent that excels at building a robust gel network with specific emollient oils and polyols.

At a 1:9 ratio, it successfully jellifies glycerin, squalane, and cetyl ethylhexanoate (CIO). When paired with botanical waxes, it creates stable structures that seamlessly transform into a melting oil gel upon skin contact.
