NIKKOL ECO-Friendly Products
NIKKOL Chemicals defines ECO-Friendly products based on standards such as RSPO/PEG-free, under three perspectives: Ethical, Climate, and Origin.
In recent years, the industry has shifted beyond the environmental impact reduction defined by the 12 Principles of Green Chemistry. There is now a critical demand for sustainability—the ability to maintain balanced economic activities from social, environmental, and economic perspectives.
In 2022, the NIKKOL GROUP established the "NIKKOL ECO-Friendly Policy*," committing to the expansion of our range of "NIKKOL ECO-Friendly Products" developed under these guidelines.
What is the NIKKOL ECO-Friendly Policy?

In order to promote sales of products in compliance with the NIKKOL ECO-Friendly Policy, our Personal Care Business Unit formulated the definition of NIKKOL ECO-Friendly Products, which establishes RSPO compliant/palm-free, silicone-free components, and petroleum-derived PEG-free as the minimum conditions that must be fulfilled.
In addition, products that comply with social contribution, Kosher requirements or ensure traceability are defined as Ethical Products, products with good biodegradability are defined as Climate Products, and upcycled/bioprocessed products are defined as Origin Products.

*Background to formulation of the NIKKOL ECO-Friendly Policy
Since 2010, the NIKKOL GROUP has been promoting GCS+E strategies. In recent years, the Group has been seeking to achieve sustainability in the sense of maintaining and continuing good economic activity by not only reducing environmental load as stated in the 12 Principles of Green Chemistry, but also from social and economic perspectives. The Group therefore saw sustainability as a high added-value management strategy and formulated the NIKKOL ECO-Friendly Policy in 2022.

The NIKKOL GROUP aims to contribute to the prevention of global warming and climate change. The company will strive to reduce CO2 emissions and waste through initiatives addressing environmental issues, and the Group will ensure strict compliance with environment-related laws and regulations.
Origin (Utilization of sustainable resources)
By utilizing sustainable resources, the NIKKOL GROUP aspires to realize a recycling society. We will further implement biotechnology and renewable raw materials and are undertaking technological and product development.
